Reserve Forces Day Parade - VIC
All former and serving Navy, Army and Air Force Reservists are warmly invited to participate in the Parade, visitors are most welcome.
This year’s Parade will acknowledge the service of all Australian Reserve Force members – former and current; commemorate the Centenary of the ANZAC landing at Gallipoli; and recognise the contribution of the RAN Bridging Train – a unit manned by Royal Australian Naval Reservists who served with bravery and great distinction at Gallipoli in 1915.
The Parade will feature a Light Horse Pennant Party in period dress, a static display of historic ex service vehicles and equipment and there also will be a flyover of vintage RAAF aircraft.
The Australian Army Band Melbourne will lead the Parade and the Reviewing Officer will be Rear Admiral John Lord AM RAN (Retd). Official guests will include Federal and State Members of Parliament, Local Government representatives, Senior Australian Defence Force Officers and ex-Service dignitaries.
WWI Commemorative Medallions and War Bars are available for purchase by direct descendants of WW1 Service personnel – contact CAPT Peter Morgan (03) 9808 2978. Orders may be placed with Peter Morgan following the Parade.
